Last week we had 3 events:

Sarah & Darrin were married at the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia - Congratulations!  Isha Foss Events provided planning & floral design.  Sarah came strolling in with her ultra cool rhinestone trimmed shades - she was feeling good in her beautiful gown.  It was her first choice - she later chose a second dress and then ended up in the first!  We had a great time with Sarah and her mom Natalie!

For Latoria's tropical themed wedding we made stunning bouquets of orange pincushion protea and yellow lilies with fatsia leaves and lily grass - waiting on pics!  The bride carried mango callas with green hypericum berries and italian ruscus accents - Yummy!

We were pleased to be asked to provide decor for an Israel @ 60 Gala reception at the Sandler Center.  The event celebrated Israel's 60 years of independence with proceeds to benefit youth missions.  It was our pleasure to donate to such a worthy cause.  Isha Foss Events donates time/decor/planning to one event each year.  To tell us about your event for 2009, please contact our us at info@ishafossevents.com.

Hope's Brithday

Last Sunday we celebrated our daughter's 4th birthday!  It was sooooo much fun!  I must say that initially I wanted to take over and go with my own theme and decor, but my husband insisted it be all about herEmbarassed and not 'over the top'.  OK....  That meant Dora the Explorer....  I put our intern, Betsy, in charge.  She and Stephanie came up with a scavenger hunt complete with The Map.  Betsy found lots of awesome party favors, which were given out at each challenge.  Event Associate, Ashley, painted faces, and Stephanie applied tattoos!  I made Dora's 'Backpack' for all the kids to keep their loot!  Of course the adventure would not have been complete without Swiper!

We kept it simple and decided to go fiesta with the decor!  I chose brightly colored linens, gerber daisies, and hot peppers for the table.  Dora's bracelet (with lip gloss, of course) served as napkin rings.  I was overjoyed when my girl proclaimed everything BEAUTIFUL and gave me her patented 'double-hand-to-mouth' gasp when she saw her "Princess" chair!  The menu consisted of a taco bar with taquitos, quesadillas, and chips w/salsa.  The celebration was made complete with yummy cupcakes from Mayra Rivera.

We wrapped it up with a ride on Cowshire (Hope named him) her FurReal pony from Santa, dressed as a donkey.

The girls (and guy) had a blast and so did we!

Go fly a kite

For those who are not from the Hampton Roads area, the weather in October is very similar to that in June - which makes October a very popular wedding month here.  With that being said, we didn't have a wedding this past weekend. I took this opportunity to enjoy the weather and my beautiful family.

We lazed around the house most of the day on Saturday.  We watched some television and had an interesting dinner at a local restaurant - I won't name names.

But the highlight of my weekend was Sunday - traditionally family day for us.  We spent the day at Mount Trashmore.  Yes - it is a mountain of trash AND an environmental feat!  We had a picnic, played in the Kids Cove with our girl, while our son Miles did some sweet tricks on his board at the skate park.  We also brought Hope's kite. There was a steady, mild breeze on the mountain (60 feet high).  Of course I was busy meeting new people and petting animals.  We all did our own thing - together!  A GREAT day.
