The Prom
Wow, my son Miles went to the prom last night!
I would not have imagined how excited I would be. I really enjoyed going with him to pick his tux. I really like what he chose - right down to his VANS skate shoes! Since he only told me the week before the event, I had to scramble to find transportation (lest I have to drive him - NOT cool). Fortunately my friends at Unique Car Service were available with just the right vehicle for my musician/skater boy!

Last week we had 3 events:
Sarah & Darrin were married at the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia - Congratulations! Isha Foss Events provided planning & floral design. Sarah came strolling in with her ultra cool rhinestone trimmed shades - she was feeling good in her beautiful gown. It was her first choice - she later chose a second dress and then ended up in the first! We had a great time with Sarah and her mom Natalie!
For Latoria's tropical themed wedding we made stunning bouquets of orange pincushion protea and yellow lilies with fatsia leaves and lily grass - waiting on pics! The bride carried mango callas with green hypericum berries and italian ruscus accents - Yummy!
We were pleased to be asked to provide decor for an Israel @ 60 Gala reception at the Sandler Center. The event celebrated Israel's 60 years of independence with proceeds to benefit youth missions. It was our pleasure to donate to such a worthy cause. Isha Foss Events donates time/decor/planning to one event each year. Inspiration: Olive & Gold Wedding
When we interviewed the fabulous Maya from Tiffanys by Maya (Maya Couture), she mentioned that Olive and Gold would be a bridal color trend for 2008.
Our intern, Betsy, has competed her term with us but left us with this inspiration board - LOVE IT!
As Isha mentioned in an earlier post, yellow/gold is a really hot color right now. It goes perfectly with another popular pick too, olive, and this board brings them together with some touches of cream and brown. I love the table setting for this board. With the other natural elements and rustic centerpiece, the fun, bright colors on the table really balance everything out. And asparagus as a design element? Very unique. The cuff is another one of my favorites from an online store that showcases independent designers. The vintage look of the jewelry goes great with the whole feel for this event.
For a different twist on olive, trying accenting if with a pale blue, lavender, peach, other shades of green, or even black and white.
